“Cease to do evil, learn to do good” (Isaiah 1:16-17)
Good character is made, not born. It must be learned and nurtured along before it becomes our natural way. We cannot do that which is evil and still learn it, we must desist from wicked things to make room for the good. Goodness cannot grow and flourish in the darkness, it must be given light, warmth, love, and weed-free soil in order to truly take root in our souls.
Bible students learn good, to do good.
