A Prayer of Deliverance

“But I will have compassion on the house of Judah and deliver them by the LORD their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.” (Hosea 1:7)

A nation that trusts in God will be delivered by God.  It has nothing to do with technological might, global economics, or defense funds.  A nation that cries out to God in their time of distress is a nation that will receive His compassion.

Who are we when times of peril are upon us?  A nation that scrambles to rely on our own strength or a people that returns to God and cries to Him for deliverance day and night.  The house of Israel was the former and Judah was the latter.  One was taken into Assyrian oblivion, the other remained as a lamp burning brightly for many more years due to their penitence and prays.

Who will we be as a nation?  Time will tell.
