“If one man sins against another, God will mediate for him; but if a man sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him?” (1 Sam 2:25)
Your most important relationship in life is with Jehovah. He is above you, before you, larger than you, wiser than you, and the creator of you. In every way, He is our superior. Our entire fate and future lie in His hands.
If you were told that one man had total control over your future career prospects – would you not try and get in his good graces? How much more so the One that holds the fate of your eternity.
Some may say, “But I don’t like the idea of a god that has that kind of power!” Whether we like it or not is of no relevance. The truth is – He does have that power. Accepting reality is part of being a grownup.
How do you worship God? As you desire or as He does?
How do you use His name? Reverently or blasphemously?
How do you treat His Word? With careful examination?
You will stand before Him. Best make sure you are right before the King.
