Choose Your Lamp

“Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked is sin.” (Pr 21:4)

A lamp is the source of light that guides you through the darkness.  When your heart is heavy, when times are difficult, when you are worried, fearful, or enraged… what guides you through those dark hours?

The wicked man turns to sin to satiate his soul.  It is sin that feeds his own pride and whispers to him that he is surely master of his own destiny.  Sin masks the pain and callouses the heart.

But there is another way.  Let the Scriptures guide you through the blackest night.  The comfort of the words of your Creator can tame your soul and wash away your fears.  Let His word be the lamp to guide you home.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Ps 119:105)
