Required Prerequisites: None

Course Description

This course is a 12-lesson overview of the entire Old Testament timeline.  This class is for the beginner to intermediate Bible student.  It is a survey of the Old Testament, its timeline of events, and where the various books fit within that timeline.

At the end of this course, students will be able to build a timeline of the history of the Israelite nation, as well as the history leading up to the formation of the nation.  They will also be able to explain how the books of the Old Testament fit within that timeline.  Students will also be able to articulate the purpose of major Old Testament themes within the broader context of the Bible and God’s plan of salvation in Christ.

Course Materials:

A good, trustworthy Bible translation.  NKJV, NASB, and ESV are all good options. For more information on why a word-for-word translation is so important, see our video tutorial below.

A basic Bible map or atlas will be helpful as well.  Most Bibles come with basic maps in the back that will suffice.  If not, a good resource for high-quality online Bible maps is http://www.bible.ca/maps/.
