A World That Loved Children

“For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him.” (1 Sam. 1:27)

Most parents look forward with anticipation to the birth of their children. We have so many hopes and dreams for them and envision a beautiful future as they are added to our family. We pray for them, just like Hannah did for Samuel.

What would the world look like if we remembered that? No neglected children. No youth raised without fathers or mothers. A world without child abuse and a world without abortion.

And in this world where we remember children, the evils are replaced with beautiful things like fathers showing up and being engaged, children being trained with boundaries and discipline so they can grow up to be well-adjusted adults. Families that are strong, loving, bastions of goodwill and godliness.

A world that loved children would be a world that loved everyone.

“But Jesus, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a child and put him by His side and said to them, ‘Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.'” (Luke 9:47-48)
