“That when the wicked sprouted up like grass and all who did iniquity flourished, it was only that they might be destroyed forevermore.” (Ps 92:7)
“The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon… They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green.” (Ps 92:12,14)
Compare these two passages from the same Psalm. Wickedness grows like grass – quick progress, quick destruction. Righteousness grows like a tree – years of slow growth, stability for generations.
Character is an investment that yields long-term dividends. Worth and hope that will not disappoint. Stay in the trenches where it’s hard. It’s worth it.
