The King That Helped the King

“Also, from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took a very large amount of bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea and the pillars and the bronze utensils.” (1 Chr 18:8)

David was never meant to build the temple – that would be Solomon’s job. And yet, that didn’t stop him from being the man that supported the man that would build the greatest structure in the history of humanity by gathering the building materials.

Faithful workers do the task that needs to be done, not just the tasks they want to do. Do what you can for the kingdom – there is no shortage of jobs, just a shortage of workers.

“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.” (Jhn 4:35-38)
