The Cost of Sacrifice

“However, the king said to Araunah, ‘No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price, for I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing.’ ” (2 Sam 24:24)

When David went to sacrifice to God, he expected it to cost him something. We should expect the same. Christianity asks us to do things that are sacrificial and we should not be surprised when they actually require sacrifice.

If it was easy, everyone would do it. Choose the road less traveled.

“For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matt 7:14)
