“then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men” (1 Kings 8:39)
Introspection is the ability to recognize the battlefield of your own heart. Your outward circumstances may be seem favorable to others, but in your heart, how many godless thoughts and desires have found safe harbor?
We must be honest with the darkness that exists within our own hearts. We can never fool God though we fool every man. We must face the Heart Knower and it is best that we do so with humility and honesty.
“For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” (Mark 7:21-23)
