See It Like It Is

“Buy truth, and do not sell it.  Get wisdom and instruction and understanding.” (Proverbs 23:23)

Truth is the knowledge of the way things really are.  Truth may be painful if it is revealed to us that we are not the spouse we thought we were or if we come to realize our behavior is wrong and misguided.

No student ever liked receiving a test back covered in red marks next to wrong answers.  Yet, those red marks tell us the truth and provide the only path to growth.  We cannot learn if we cannot accept truth.  We cannot allow our emotions to stop us from acknowledging right from wrong.

A man that rejects truth, rejects all hope of deliverance from himself.

“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)
