Reward in the Work

“But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work.” (2 Chronicles 15:7)

In life, the reward is directly proportional to the difficulty of the work.  The things that bring you the greatest sorrow, cause you to wring your hands with anxiety, and face your deepest fears are also the most capable of bringing tears of joy to your eyes, a sense of abiding accomplishment, and the deepest forms of satisfaction with them.

The most important work is spiritual work.  Raising our children in godly homes, remaking our lives in the image of our Savior, serving others, and sharing the faith with a world that is anxious to reject His message.  These things are hard, but they are rewarding.

So be strong like King Asa.  Do not lose courage – for there is a reward for your work.
