“Many a man proclaims his own loyalty, but who can find a trustworthy man?” (Pr 20:6)
Loyalty is a synonym for faith. The faithful friend is the one that is loyal. Trustworthy faith is found in the deeds of a man’s life and his conduct over time. A man may say he loves his wife, but his deeds over time will either bear that ought or contradict him.
Many claim to be faithful, trustworthy followers of Christ, but stating something as true doesn’t make it so. We may say we love the Lord, but our actions will always speak louder than our words.
“But someone will say, ‘You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.’ ” (James 2:18)
