“Behold, they belch forth with their mouth; swords are in their lips, for, they say, ‘Who hears?’ But You, O LORD, laugh at them; You scoff at all the nations.” (Ps 59:7-8)
I find it comforting that God laughs. Our Father has a sense of humor, too. What does He laugh at though?
He laughs at the wicked when they think they are in control. He scoffs at the nations that think they can control their own destiny without Him in it. He looks at the machinations of godless men and says, “How cute. They think they’ll get away with it.”
So, while we fear what tomorrow might bring and the trials that come with life. He laughs. I think I like God’s way better.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing; and she laughs at the time to come.” (Proverbs 31:25)
