Glory Awaits

“so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.” (2 Chronicles 5:14)

The Old Testament is a rich tapestry filled with physical imagery meant to convey spiritual ideals.  The cloud filling the temple at its dedication is one of those powerful messages.

God’s glory was so great that it stopped the priests from serving.  All they could do was stand by and watch the cloud fill the temple completely.

When we get to heaven, we won’t have to worry about what to do with our time.  The most ardent servant of God will put down his tools, cast his crown before the sea of glass, and fall trembling to his knees before God’s throne of glory.

We will never again worry about what our life is about or whether our meager and shaky service has been worth it.  The vision of His glory will be all the validation we’ll need for the long fought struggle.  Whatever the labors and tears it took get there will all have been worth it.

Soldier on.  Glory awaits.
