A Tested Shield

“Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.  Do not add to His words or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5-6)

When the perfect armorer makes you some gear, don’t try and improve it.  The Scripture is tested, tried, and trustworthy.  Even David knew not to wear untested armor.

When we start adding to it, it isn’t His Word or His church anymore – it’s just a bunch of spiritual mumbo-jumbo that makes us feel good about ourselves while still allowing us to live as we please… but it can’t save our souls.

Let’s just go back to the Bible and be simple, New Testament Christians.  If we convert like they did, teach what they taught, and live like they did – we’ll be fine.
