“ ‘Bad, bad,’ says the buyer, but when he goes his way, then he boasts.” (Pr 20:14)
Everyone likes to get a good deal… but God’s people should also seek to give others a good deal, too. It is a sign of character when we seek to be fair in our business dealings. God’s business ethics take into account a long-term perspective of taking care of others. We wish other’s to be honest in what they sell, and we must be honest in how we purchase.
This is good business practice, but it is also just another way of following the second greatest commandment.
“And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39)
